Rise Sweetie Pie

Updated: Mar 14, 2019

If You Fall You Can Rise

I love a good come back story, don’t you? I mean there’s just something special about a fall and then a RISE that’s so inspirational. Have you ever watched your favorite sports game when they were losing, and it looked like the game was over and suddenly out of nowwhere the tables turn, and they end up winning that game. I love it when that happens. It makes my day.

Well, I don’t know about you but being the entrepreneur that I am I've had a few falls. I’ve even had a few literal falls. I don’t remember a specific time, but I'm sure I've fallen off a bike and skid my knee a few times, but guess what, I'm still alive.

Have you ever fallen and tried to pretend you were more hurt than you were just because you were embarrassed? I mean I haven’t, I just know other people do that, not me of course lol ( WINK).

In fact, there was one day that I will never forget. I was at church, and an older gentleman was serving communion, and he fell face down right in front of me. I was so startled because I thought something medically horrible happened to him. A few men rushed to him, and he got back up. But that’s not what impacted me the most. He got up, and it appeared that he was headed for the door when he suddenly made a right turn towards the front of the church to continue to serve the communion. I couldn’t believe it! I was so amazed at how he didn’t allow his fall to keep him from serving others. I remember thinking, I want to be like that when I fall. I don't want to let my pride stop me from rising and moving forward especially when people’s lives are depending on me.

Falling is very similar to failure, isn’t it.

I know I'm all over the place with this falling point but stick with me. Do you remember that commercial that had that famous line, "I've fallen and I can't get up"? Well, that commercial was made by a company called, Life Alert. It was designed not to prevent people from falling but to get people the assistance they needed after the fall.

In life, falling, or failing is inevitable. But we must rise.

The good news is, when the fall occurs we can be somewhat of a life alert to others, and people can be a life alert to us if we allow them too. The better news is: we can rise again.

That’s why I created “Rise Sweetie Pie” for today’s recipe because the sweetness of a pie is just like the sweetness of a RISE!

We don’t have to stay down after we fall. We can rise again and become a better person than we were before if we have the right perspective.

.

Well, I hope you enjoyed this recipe, please feel free to share your personal “If you fall, you can rise.” recipe with me. Some of the best recipes are the ones that are passed down. Until next time, I'll Chef Ya Later!

Ingredients

Don’t look down on others when they fall.

Special Note:

I haven’t perfected this recipe, but it gets better each time I make it!

This week’s challenge:

Find an area where you may have fallen and get back up and rise to the occasion.

Have you seen The Greatest Showman? This was a great movie released in 2017. It's a perfect depiction of failure and growth on many levels. Worth checking out!
